Ten Questions to Ask at Your First Aesthetics Consultation

A good consultation should leave you better informed, not more confused. Whether you're visiting us or another clinic, here are ten questions worth asking before agreeing to any treatment.

  1. What are your qualifications and professional registration? Any practitioner should be able to answer this clearly and immediately.
  2. What are the realistic outcomes for me specifically? Be cautious of anyone promising guaranteed or dramatic results.
  3. What's the downtime, honestly? Ask what "typical" looks like, not just the best case.
  4. What are the risks and possible side effects? A thorough practitioner will cover this without being asked twice.
  5. Is this a one-off treatment or part of a course? Understanding the full plan — and cost — matters.
  6. What happens if I'm not happy with the result? A good clinic will have a clear answer.
  7. Can I take time to think about it? You should never feel rushed or pressured into booking.
  8. What products are being used, and why? You're entitled to understand what's going into or onto your skin.
  9. How will follow-up be handled? Aftercare and review appointments should be part of the plan, not an afterthought.
  10. Can I see evidence of training and experience? It's reasonable to ask, and a confident practitioner will welcome the question.
