1. Who we are

The Aesthetics Edit (“we”, “us”) is a nurse-led aesthetics clinic founded and run by Chelsea Smith, a Registered Nurse. We are based at 361 Woodbridge Rd, Ipswich IP4 4ET, and can be contacted at theaestheticsedit@outlook.com.

We are the data controller for the personal information you share with us, for the purposes of UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. This means we decide how and why your information is used, and we are responsible for looking after it.

2. What data we collect

We collect information you provide directly, including your name, contact details, and any information shared when you book online, through our enquiry form or during consultation (including relevant medical history where applicable).

3. How we use your data

We use your data to respond to enquiries, arrange and deliver consultations and treatment, maintain clinical records as required by our professional obligations, and — only with your consent — for marketing communications.

4. Medical and clinical records

Your consultation notes, medical history, consent forms and treatment records are stored in Faces, a specialist records system for aesthetic clinics provided by Faces Consent Limited. Faces stores data in secure data centres in the United Kingdom and encrypts it both when it is transmitted and when it is stored. Faces processes your information on our behalf and only on our instructions.

We keep clinical records for 8 years after your last treatment with us, in line with NMC and NHS guidance on adult clinical records, so that your treatment history is available if you need further care or if any question about your treatment arises. After that period, your records are securely deleted.

5. Services that help us run the clinic

We use a small number of trusted services to run the clinic. Each one processes your information on our behalf, only for the purpose described below and only on our instructions:

  • Faces (Faces Consent Limited) — stores your clinical records, as described in section 4.
  • Acuity Scheduling (provided by Squarespace, Inc.) — our online booking system. When you book an appointment through our website, it collects your name, contact details, the appointment you choose and any answers you give to booking questions, so that we can manage your booking.
  • Resend (Resend, Inc.) — when you send an enquiry through our contact form, Resend delivers your enquiry to our inbox by email. It is used only to deliver that message to us.

Acuity Scheduling and Resend are based in the United States, so your information may be processed outside the UK. Where this happens, it is protected by the safeguards required under UK GDPR, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. We never sell your personal information or share it for marketing purposes.

6. Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at theaestheticsedit@outlook.com. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).

7. Cookies

This site uses cookies as described in our Cookie Policy.
