Understanding Skin Cycling: A Consultation-Led Approach

Most of the questions we hear in consultation aren't about a single treatment — they're about where to start. Skin cycling, as we use the term in clinic, isn't a trend borrowed from social media. It's a way of thinking about your skin in phases, rather than reaching for one treatment and hoping it does everything.

Why phases matter

Skin has a natural renewal cycle of roughly four to six weeks. Treatments that work with that cycle — spaced appropriately, reviewed in person — tend to produce steadier, more predictable outcomes than a single intensive session.

This is part of why every programme we build starts with a consultation, not a treatment menu. Your practitioner will look at your skin's current state, your goals, and how much time you realistically have, before suggesting a sequence.

A typical first phase

For many clients, a first phase looks something like:

  • An in-depth skin consultation and Fitzpatrick assessment
  • A course of gentle resurfacing (dermaplaning or microneedling, depending on your skin)
  • A review appointment to assess response before planning the next phase

What we won't do

We won't promise a fixed timeline for results, and we won't recommend a full course before we've seen how your skin responds to an initial session. Individual results vary, and your practitioner will always be honest with you about what's realistic.

If you're not sure where to start, our Wellness MOT Consultation is designed exactly for that — an unhurried, no-pressure conversation before any treatment decision is made.
